Contraindications

What are the side effects?

Some uncommon side effects may also occur which include hypotension, hypertension, bleeding from nose, increase in sweating, skin rashes, pain in abdomen, blurred vision with the difficulty to differentiate between green and blue colours, dizziness, palpitations and tachycardia.

Very few people also experienced swelling of face and eyelids, redness of eyes, hives, migraine, priapism, sudden heart attack, heart rhythm disorders, hives and severe blistering disorder of skin affecting eyes, mouth and genitals which is called Stevens-Johnson syndrome.

Taking this medicine in nonarteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy can cause complete loss of vision.

 

Interaction of drugs

This medicine should not be combined with nitrate medications like amyl nitrate which is called poppers. Avoid taking this medicine when you are taking Alpha blocker drugs for lowering blood pressure like doxazosin.

The side-effects of this medicine can increase with antibiotic, antifungal and HIV protease inhibitors. The medicine can become less effective when combined with rifampicin, phenytoin and carbamazepine.
